hello guys..i've decided to change the brake pads coz they wear out already (sudah nipis lor..) i wonder how many brake sensor that e36 have since i would like to change the sensor as well..(the brake pad warning light at the meter panel doesn't show any sign, so must be faulty brake sensor i guess)..logically there should be a sensor on each wheel rite?:stupid: sifus pls help :106: thank you..

There should be 1 in front on the left.. Not on both sides bcos the brakes are supposed to wear evenly, so not necessary to have 2 in front..

usually how much the sensor cost?i was quoted rm30 per sensor..is it too much?

OK lah... Normally when the light comes ON, you are advise to change the brake pad within a week. if not, the sensor will sensor will be damaged (get grin by the disc) when the pad get worn down further.

Problem is, the light indicator never came ON on my ride..i just instinctively check for brake pad wear and luckily i found out it was in bad shape as the pad on left front caliper is very thin indeed. So do i need to change the sensor as well since the light never came ON?

If brake pad light never comes "ON", it means that the sensor is still working.

It may means that the brake pad with is sensor is still "thick". Not normal to have one side of the brake pad to worn out faster than the other side. You may have a sticky brake servo. check the level of the brake fluid at the reservoir. If it drop down, that means that brake pad is thinning.

Another thing to consider is to replace the brake fluid.

Maybe the last person who install the pads didn't plug in the sensor (benefit of the doubt), or they just bill u and didn't install it  .. all kinds of possibilities. Once buka the pad, all answer shall reveal.
