Freak Accident ( Of Nature ), Need Some Advise

Hi Bros! My 4 month old 320D got hit by a Tree Branch / Trunk, was a freak storm, the big branch actually flew across 2 cars and landed nicely on my car's bonet / hood!Its nothing major, however it managed to give a nice deep dent to the "tulang" on the right side, and also on the tyre fender Any good shops to do a knock and spray, or need to change it all together? ( according to the panel AB Tun Razak knock & spray, 6k at least.. ).Really sakit hati when seeing my car when i start my day

just a small dent costs 6k? how about sending your car to the knock n spray and ask them to paint according to your paint code number. that would be cheaper fix. another way is ask them to take off your fender and ask them if they can heat the dented area and knock

Sorry to hear abt this mishap bro. Where did you buy your car from? If not covered by warranty, maybe can try to ask for goodwill. Worst off you can make a report and claim a new hood. Thats why we have the insurance coverage ... Try to make the most of the insurance claim.

Hi bros! Thanks for all the kind replies :top:

the dent is actually quite deep and deformed - and its right at the "tulang" of the e90 hood, so perhaps its affected the rigidity / structure of the hood itself?
and the 6k quote was for a new hood altogether, and about 4.5k for a 2nd hand hood..hmm

ezzo369 : yes thought of that as well, but how well can a knock and spray be ya? have not tried any before, perhaps will go this route first

dzulljazz : can try to create a story to the insurance, hmm a bike suddenly flew on top of the car? and bought it at AB Tun Razak, am from KL

bmw7833 : ok will try to call the no, but also tried a simillar method for my prev ride at Dr Dent ( at puchong ), it works for small dents, but not the one at the tulang as its a bit too hard to knock back into place

Ill pickup my ride first from AB and see the other options...

i think a good panel beater could do this work with less then couple of hundreds , but to save the paint ..that's a different story ...

you may try lian heng in bangi ...pretty good with such works ...

I believe that you can claim from DBKL as they have a insurance for this matter, police report, pictures, location, all need to be given. This is possible as it's DBKL to ensure that the trees, roads, manholes have a insurance for this acts.

then, once they approve it, you go to your own insurance to claim. dunworry, it's a back to back claim procedure, it wont touch your NCB.
