Hi all,Any of you find that your F30's air con vents are loose? "Loose" as in, its not sturdy enough and sometimes will make some creaking sound just like some cheap plastic not fitted right. I noticed that other BMW models have thicker plastics for their air con vents and very solidly built whereas the ones fitted in my F30 is thin and fragile. Adjusting the air flow is very easily done and doesn't feels solid. On top of that, I suspect that the creaking sound that I hear during my drives also comes out from the air con vents. Any of you also experiencing the same?Edit: To be exact, those are cracking sounds where at times, could be quite loud.

I have metal plate vibration sound when I first start my car in the morning. However, after 10 mins or so when engine warmth up, the sound mysteriously disappear. I don't intend to do anything unless the sound gets worse. I am concern they may create more problems when opening up the air con.

The creaking noise that you hear coming from the air con vents are the sound of the internal ducts/vents opening and closing to adjust the airflow typically when you start the car. This happens if you use "auto" air distribution settings. In the F30 these movements is slighly noisy - i.e. creaking. In the E90, the aircon does the same thing, but it was quieter.

Bro, I never use 'Auto' mode for my air-con, its always manual setting. Plus, the noise does not happen when my car is started. It was heard halfway during my journey and appears to be very random. Could it be the internal ducts/vents adjusting? I'm not familiar with the internals of the air-con. Recently, I got to drive the new X1 and it appears to have the same issue.

It could be. Try to play around with the air distribution settings and listen to any noise when you manually adjust the air distribution.. In my car, its the passenger side thats creaks slightly when adjustments are made, but not the driver's. Anyhow, this aint no biggie to me. But if its borthering you, you can ask the SC to adjust...might mean having to remove the dashbord though...
