F30 Remote control showing low batt after changing new battery

Hi guys,
i am a newbie here.

1 new and 1 old remote key come with when i bough the his used f30 320i 2013. previous owner using only 1 remote key, and till now no problem at all. But when i try to use another new remote key, it show low battery remote, after i change few new battery, the screen still showing low battery remote. The problem gone after i use back the old remote key. Both remote key also ori from the car.

Any suggest ?

I think the battery is rechargeable one you have to use it for some time to let the battery charge first.my e90 key also same problem because I only use one key then when I use spare key the battery sign will come in Idrive after two day will gone

For keys which are totally encased in plastic, does the charging still take place ? This type of key has no metal contact with the electrical system in the car. Thanks.

The key battery is charged by voltage induction. When ignition is on, the toroidal coil surrounding the key hole acts as a primary coil (as in electrical transformer) induce the ac voltage on the secondary coil which is inside the keyfob and supplying the current to charging circuit. No physical +ve and -ve contacts required.

Which brand of battery you bought?

I had a similar experience. When I saw the message, I went to an electronic shop and got a generic CR2450 battery. The price was merely RM8 but the error message remained. Then, I got another Panasonic CR2450 and this round it worked.
