Guys, i understand that the 328i ( and maybe the entire 3series range ) does not come with an alarm / anti theft system. The only protection we have is that it wont start without the Key FOB nearby - 1.5m. I have searched thru the forum posts but nothing really caught my eye.So, I would like to know what you guys do to secure your car. Steering lock , Some type of anti towing alarm ? The only good news that i came across, is that BMW gives a 1-to-1 replacement if your car is stolen within 2 years ? Is that true ? Anyone here with anyexperience of this ?

only if you buy BMW/alliance insurance together when you purchase your car.

am not sure if you should be discussing about the bmw security in a public forum. That's why you dont find anything about it posted anywhere

if its bullet proof we do not have this discussion, not hide our head under the sand and hope it goes away. older series some can start using screw driver only. as the key hole is worn and is expensive to replace.

Bro, i meant security measures taken by owners to protect their car....not security measures implemented by BMW.

bump ?

I am thinking of at least getting a steering wheel lock ? Or Is that completely useless ? Dont you guys have some xtra way of protecting the car ?
Or maybe i am just too worried about vehicle theft ?
