Sent him a mail that i m interested, he responded promptly that he bought the car in Malaysia then bring the car to UK when he got a job there. Now he decided to sell it back to Malaysia via escrow service. he assuredme that i only have to pay the exact amount of the car he quoted, he will bear the shipping cost/tax. I have to pay deposit 10% in order for him to proceed with shipment, and gave me 14 days upon arrival to inspect the car. If i decided to reject, the deposit will be refunded.Question: Is this a safe transaction? anybody here have try buy/selling in this manner? I dont feel comfortable paying a deposit for a car that i can only view in a photo..

My advise is to be extra careful when dealing thru the net.

well i got the same story as well..some guy wanted to sell me a e46 cabrio from uk..all i need to do is to pay the full amount to the shipping company once the car already been on board of the ship..then upon receiving the car..i got 5 days to test it..if i m satisfy then the shipping company will release the money to seller..if not i need to return the car n i will get full refund..sounds damm too good to be thru..

Hmmm..... isn't this a variation of:

I have a $2,000,000 cheque already written in your name and I just need you to deposit $5,000 for us to verify your bank account information.......

The only difference in this case is that if you bank in the $2,000,000 cheque and it bounces then you can return it and your deposit will be refunded. :top:

i must say that this is a scam.
i'm in uk now, and there's a lot of advertisement like this in here.
they sell the car with really cheap prices to attract peoples. i've came across this situation before, they did offer the same things on how the transaction could be made. The seller said he is in spain and the car is in Scotland. He wants me to to use Escrow service(which actuallyi is safe transaction, but all this people are smart, the system is made by human, so they have their own way to make sure the Escrow released the money). Back on my situation, i did ask the seller that i want to view the car and i can pay cash if i'm satisfied. But the seller refused, and still want to use their method.

Be careful when u deal over the net, dont get scam by this scammer.

Just my 2 pence...

To all, thanks for the advise..i believe it is a scam too, the price too cheap and the the seller story doesnt make sense.

if it's too good to be true, then it's too good to be true...i enquired about an e46 and a X5...both below 60K and reply was from the same person...same story...PLEASE...if you want to buy a BMW, get it locally...these people would most probably ask you to pay a downpayment, then after that, you won't hear from them anymore...what can you do? nothing?

My friend enquired a Saab convertible was also given the same story. When I enquired an E46 325 M sport, also the same story. I wonder how many ppl has fallen to this scam.

The story goes like this...

The car is in perfect condition, no damage, never been involved in any accidents, has always been garage kept. It is still registered in Malaysia but now the car is in United Kingdom with me. The reason that the car is in United Kingdom is because I worked in Malaysia as a consultant inspector for the Department of Health for a few years in exchange of experience and now I am back at my home from United Kingdom - Liverpool. If you are still interested please e-mail and and I will get back to you with more details.
I can not come with the car to Malaysia. If you are interested and want to buy the car you will not have to pay any taxes in Malaysia because the car is already registered there. To make the deal I propose to use the escrow service. I already have the car in their custody, prepared in a contained to be shipped to the address where I will make the transaction. Shipping charges, documentation and bureaucracy will not be a problem because I work with them for a few years and to ship the car to you. I will pay only a few fees to them (I have a lot of discounts because I am an old client to their agency). You will pay only the money for the car. If you are interested to make the deal please let me know and I will try to provide you all the necessary details to make the transaction. I will wait your answer.

Thanks !

Well for an Englishman, his English is not up to par. So I say, it's a scam.

Salut

escrow services

this is the answer i get when i asked him about evo 8.

hi ,
all documents are in original with the car in the sealed container . transaction with escrow works like this :
-you will give me your full name and address
-i will go to escrow and give them your details and i will pay the shipping taxes
-escrow will send you an e-mail with the transaction details (shipment and payment).you will pay to escrow in advance 5% from the price of the car and you will send the details of the payment to escrow .
-escrow will verify and keep the payment in their custody and they will start the shipping procedure
-you will receive the car in maximum 10 working days and you will have 14 days inspection period
-after the 14 days inspection period if you will decide to keep the car , you will make the rest of the payment to escrow . if you will not keep the car , escrow will give your money back and they will ship the car back to me on my expenses .
please notice that the escrow agent which is responsable with out transaction will make all the papers to take the car on your name .
so if you agree with these terms please send me your full name and address in order to start the transaction .
thanks

Hi,

Im new in here...Thank god i see this thread, im looking for e46 then found 1 in mudah. very cheap, so i email that person. below is what he replied to me...

Hello,

First of all thank you for your interest in my car. The total cost of
the car is RM 35000. The car is in perfect condition, no damage, never
been involved in any accidents, has always been garage kept. It is
still registered in Malaysia but now the car is in England with me.
The reason that the car is in England is because I worked in Malaysia
as a consultant inspector for the Department of Health for a few years
in exchange of experience and now I am back at my home from England.
If you are still interested please e-mail and and I will get back to
you with more details.

Thank you !

after that i email him again and he replied like this

again

Hello,

Yes, you must make the advance payment of 25% and the rest is the
loan. I know what is the procedure to make the papers and you will not
have any problems. Here you have all the necessary details to start
the transaction with the escrow service:
1. To start the transaction I will need your full name and address.
2. The car is already in the company custody and ready for shipping,
also with all the documents for registration. We do not have access to
the documents of the car until it will arrive to your location. They
will need your signature to open them and I will not be able to give
you any kind of information regarding the car.
3. After I will pay all the necessary fees to them you will receive an
e-mail from them with the details of the transaction (shipping and
payment).
4. You will have to pay to them in advance 25% from the price of the
car and send the details of your payment to them. The shipping
procedure will not start until you will not pay the money to the
escrow service company.
5. After the payment is verified the escrow service will ship the car
to your location and it will arrive in maximum 12 working days. The
payment will remain in the escrow service company trust account until
you decide if you want to keep the car or not.
6. You will have the car in your custody for 2 weeks to test it. Also
you will have the papers so you can go and verify them so you can see
you will not have to pay any taxes. The escrow agent responsible with
the transaction will make all the papers to take the car on your name.
7. After the 2 weeks of inspection if you decide to keep the car you
will close the papers with the escrow service and give them the rest
of the money for it(you will have a limit if 500km to drive the car).
If you do not want to keep it the escrow service will take the car
back and you will receive your money in 24 hours.

So if you are agree with this terms please send me your full name and
address to begin the transaction.

Im trying to make clear on number 7, then he replied

yes if you pay before 25% you get 25 %, if you pay 50% you get 50% back,
when you think that you can make the payment in a few days, please
email me your full name and address so i can start the transaction.

again i ask him either got other person contact him?

i will deal with other persons , because i am not 100% that you will buy,
Are you 100% sure?

so after i see all the email, i can see that 2 last email is writing by somebody and the others is set by system.
his email is wwesaesa@gmail.com as Daniel Gatten.

please beware of this person@scam

Thanks to all.:top:

Hi all,

If you check out the prices of cars in UK you will realise that prices over there are WAAAAAAAAY cheaper than what you pay in Malaysia..so it will NEVER EVER make sense to ship your car from Malaysia to UK to use there even if you are bona fide transferred there to work.

For example, way back in mid 90s Proton Wira export model (with more bells & whistles than local, better made, higher quality) was about RM85000 compared to local Wira 1.6 RM64000.Guess what was the price in UK?..About 6000 POUNDS Sterling..after conversion at max was RM42000. Go figure....:stupid:

Looks like the local market was actually supporting Proton overseas market..:motz:

Now compare that to a BMW CKD here & a BMW there..you get the drift...:thefinger:

Most people went there to study or work would want to get a car there to bring back..not the other way round..:top:

So it's definitely a SCAM...be forewarned!!

Cheers :)

Yes, careful guys, few months ago, I encountered the same thing but when I questioned too much (as I wasn't satisfied with their answer) they stop replying.
