Just wanna share with you guys what I did during the evening. Epic rim cleaning.
Can consider this a spin off from KC's expensive wheel detailing manual. Hahaha.I can attest for many people out there that our rims are usually the MOST neglected part of the car. And I would definitely say, why! A clean rim = epic pride. :top:Of course, what with tar and brake dust and what nots, keeping a really clean rim for even a day is considered a bonus!
Rear rim before cleaning commenced. From this range, looks quite normal; not so dirty right?
But lo & behold, shock and awe... Look at that layer of brake dust!
So dirty after only two days cleaning it.
Goodness gracious me.
Eggie's Stage 1
So, here are my tools. A pail of ONR, with microfibre towel and used toothbrush.
One wipe and you can see just how much dirt has accumulated on the front rim.
Proceeded to wipe clean the whole area. Looking good, right?
Moving on to bottom half of the rim. More dirt.
Still dirty in between actually. http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/6987/imag0354s.jpgOne pass with towel and it looks better already. Eggie's Stage 2http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/9770/imag0355k.jpgTime to bring out the big guns - Meg's All Wheel Cleaner and Osren APC diluted with water. Pretty aggressive stuff - thanks to sifu KC for the supply. :top:http://img808.imageshack.us/img808/2291/imag0356.jpgRemember before?http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/2422/imag0357p.jpgLetting the chemicals agitate the dirt.http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/3073/imag0358c.jpghttp://img5.imageshack.us/img5/2419/imag0360c.jpgLooking much better now.http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/3119/imag0364n.jpgStill got some brake residue in between the spokes. http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/3860/imag0365u.jpgEnd result. Coated the tyres with one coat of Meg's Gold Class Tyre Shine. :smokin:http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/2294/imag0367.jpgSatisfied with my simple workout.
