guys, i had this problem yesterday..while i was driving from Bkt bintang to PJ through Smart, i was at 2k rpm when my car started to jerk, it's kinda like the car is running out of fuel. It jerks for a while then it stops, then it comes again. Fuel shouldn't be a problem cause i just refilled in the morning..Then when i reaches Federal Highway, it was very jamm, the jerking problem occurs once a while and later on, there's a buzzing sound from the left, not sure if it's from the engine or the interior, one thing for sure, it's very annoying..After having dinner, i start the car again and all the problem was gone..no buzzing nor jerking..could heat be one of the problem?I'd just fitted a AC fan 2 days back (big fan) could this be the source of the problem? Before installing the fan, i did not have such problem..Will try disconnecting the AC fan to test of the problem persists..any hints guys?

From what I understand...

It could be the fuel pump that about to give way.

Have it check by a reputable mech soon.

Good Luck

bad fuel?

but i do not think it can be injectors or plugs. if it was, the car won't be as jerky (like running out of fuel), it will be hesitant, with loads of vibration.

guys, i missed out one important info..i replaced my K&N cone filter back with ori filter box..so, that might make some diff..

daniel, i refill with shell all the time..so, fuel shouldn't be a problem. I guess.

I took my car to my mech and told him my prob, he say it shouldn't be the problem with the fuel pump. Instead, the culprit might be the distributor, Air flow meter or even CO..

then i ask him if it's safe to drive up genting in such condition..and he say it's fine to even drive the car to France if there's the road. furthermore, he ask me to swap back to the K&N cone filter to see if the problem persists..tested it..and yes..the problem is still there, but it doesn't happen as often as before..

Jus to share my experience with you guys, went up genting on sat nite, going up is smooth and can really feel the difference between front wheel drive vehicle, with some jerking (the prob), the car is more willing to rev after pushing it a few times. Managed to maintain around 65-70kmh while going uphill..at certain corners, juz need to engage to 2nd gear compared to the cars i've driven which uses the 1st..

The jerking happens more often while going downhill..therefore, kinda scary..

Best of all is knowing that my 22 year old car still manages up and down genting with not much of a problem..UDM rocks..

cheers
