Hi,so far, most of the recommendations for ecu tuning has been skewed towards the piggbacks - Procede and JB particularly...Personally, all my previous cars had their ecu remapped (ie written directly to ecu via the obd port), rather than piggybacked. Also spoke to one of the more well known tuners and he was recommending ecu remapping (of course he doesn't do piggyback).Am abit confused now... which is the better and safer way ? remap or piggyback ? or no difference besides the price (ecu remap more expensive and can't diy) ??I've been told with the remap there are more parameters that can be modded vs piggyback. Also, I am curious to know if the piggybacks modify the water pump speed or not ? With more boost, faster water pump speed. This is a feature highlighted by dinan (remap) on their website.Any one care to shed some light ?? I'm probably alittle ahead of myself as my 335i doesn't get delivered till another week or two but am doing my research first..

i would go for piggyback because it doesnt touches your original ecu, and of course, it is transferable ( you can sell it when you are done with it) . remapping is just a service. i think both acts the same, tinkering parameters so your car will do otherwise of a stock car.
Each tuner has its own philosophy of how the tune of the car should be. So read up and see which is more suitable for your style of driving. =)
