E90 & Ipod

Got the iPod connector for my E90, LCI and worked well with the iPod Classic bought back in 2004-05. After reading through this thread, I tried plugging in my IPhone........It can work but will need to turn to 'Airplane' mode'........

anyone has any experience using the USB port in e90 (facelifted - end 2008 onwards) with iPhone 3G/3GS for music and charging the iPhone 3G/3GS ?

Which adapter?

1. The iPod Interface
2. The iPhone Snap-in Adapter or
3. The iPod adapter cable.

1. Will charge iPod Classic but not iPod Touch
2. Don't know, don't have one
3. Will charge both iPod Classic and Touch.

does the adapter cable that you bought works ? It charged the iPhone and able to select the playlist / sogns through the player ? Does your e90 has an iDrive ? I've read that the adapter only works if the e90 comes with the SmartPhone Integration option (SA 6NF), not sure if the Malaysia e90 comes stock with this.

I just tested the cable on my 325 and damn it works. I wasted >2K. But I didnt pay for it. Damn the AB engineering for not knowing.

So for all those who has the USB/AUX port, buy this cable. The interface is better than my BMW iPod interface. It works with iPod Nano, Classic, Video and Touch. When you select audio, iPod appears in place of the Aux or USB. I think the CDC is still there. The selections for Genre, Artist, Album appears as a menu on the dash display. All steering controls work. In the case of the BMW iPod interface I have, the Genre, Album and Artist appears as 1, 2, 3, 4,....

I dont have an iPhone to test. You are welcome to come over and test it. I won't know if it can work with iDrive or Phone preparation.

Hi guys ,

Just wanted to say that i got this item from AB Sg Besi .
Plugged it in to my 2010 323i ...it goes into the USB port and the headphone jack at one end ...and the other end goes into my ipod.
After that I could see my ipod touch on the idrive ...all my playlist is there and i can control it from the steering ..i was soooo happy .
If you want ur ipod hooked up to ur car ....this the cheapest and least messy method . hope that helped ..
