E90 Door Material Melting/Deterioting

Hi All,I have seen several E90 where the door handle/pull from interior became melted and sticky when touched. Some even exposing the internal plastic housing.I think this is due to the heat of the weather. Can this problem be fixed? Or we must have the whole door panel replaced? Wow, this is great! But it is not what I mean. I am wondering if we can replace the door pull bar/handle because if I hold it, it feels sticky like chewing gum because the rubber material is like melting.

Ah, I see. Not sure about that but if you want to remove the sticky stuff then the alien clean works great. It will leave behind the plastic underneath so no chance of the sticky problem reoccuring.

Yes you can replace the rubber door handle. Mine was damaged and I enquirer with Eng Soon at Singapore about that part. It's not expensive but is pre colour coded. They didn't have black so I couldnt change mine.

I just found the following information on the relevant parts. Look like I can order the door pull separately. I will give it a try if can't find any other options.
I guess I can try the potong shops if I don't want to order online. Hope this will help others as well.

Initially I also had that stick rubber melting problem but it was on my car stereo volume and scroll knobs. I took it to the parts shop next to Bavarian Auto at Jalan Ipoh and they advise me to just wash it with dish washing liquid. I did and it worked.

Well, they didn't have the part to begin with anyway. Not sure if you can try the same.

Hi can pm me the price and how to cod the Alien Clean,i need it for my leather seats... i need to send my car to respray the door handle as well as the paint is peeling off and looks quite bad

Just read reply from ys. He get the part from autobavaria which they called it "clasp", for less than rm50.

I actually tried to source for the part but most shops don't stock the handle. So I got Bavarian auto to orde me some from germany for rm 80 plus each. Maybe I will let u guys know when it comes in. The one that melted for me is e front passenger side.

Stupid Bavarian Auto. Eventhough they said i don't need to make a booking or payment for the product that I want, now they say they have not ordered it and require that i make a payment to book the part. Its also RM120.00 now. Sigh....not the most professional eventhough they are suppose to be a big corporation.

Gonna sms the sale rep the part number and then wire the money to them. I also informed them that forumers are also looking for this part so guys you may wanna have a talk to them at 03-4043 3888

Ok update. I have sms the part number to the sales rep and he advise that the part is RM90.00 instead. I wired the money to him and sent him the confirmation. Now the part should arrive within one (1) week. He will call me once the part arrives. Atleast they manage to solve everything within one hour's time. Think they made up for their earlier short falling.

AB Sg Besi were giving 50% discount then, so I went to grab the "clasp" all 3 sides (driver's side is not needed) immediately. They have stock for Grey interior then.
You may want to call to check.

My mother got herself an E90 325i MSport from BMW Premium Selection. The first thing I noticed was the melted rubber handles. AB Glenmarie replaced the door handles - front passenger and rear passenger side. The one behind the driver side was fine.

It was a 2007 and the replacement were done with ease through AB Glenmarie. The SA is Thurai. Great fella.
