my abs pump fail last 8 months ago too on my e92 335i. I can source for a second hand unit for you if you need. I pay around 4k plus for everything. Everything seems to be fine up to date.

Hi may i ask if the unit is only the hydro unit or the control unit alltogether ?

I bought the whole control unit. Actually when 1st happen as I was travelling to the uk I bring along the control unit cos one of my cousin in the uk told me that one of the shop in london can service it. So i took it out from my car and brought it to the uk. Left my parts there for 4 days n eventually they told me too much things to replace and might as well you buy new. So in the end they just return the control unit to me without doing anything. Maybe I am a bit giam but to fork out 10k to buy a new control unit I think it is too much. I would rather spend that money to get a set of exhaust system. Then I bought a used control unit from oversea and fit it to my car and so far things work perfectly until now.

So for this 8 months everything still fine? I'm doubt how they got the 2nd hand unit?

bro kevcrave,
You seem to have this herd mentality that all secondhand parts are not good.

Used parts come from cars that either have been written off due to accidents or recovered stolen vehicles dismantled for legally with permission from their respective insurers etc.

These cars' parts may still be salvageable and the bad parts are either recycled or destroyed in an environmentally safe manner.

So these good parts are then available to you at an affordable price.

cheers

mucha... check out the bottom of this thread. Got one guy recommended a number for me when I had the ABS issue but I didn't need it coz the shop I bought from helped replace it :) Maybe you can check this out and see if it's a cheaper alternative.

My car also hit with the same problem. DSC and ABS light pop up. Got the number from the link and give a try. It is K&S Auto located at USJ 1. The mechanic is Ah Soon, very nice guy. What he did was servicing the SZL steering module and reprogramming it.When my car was first diagnosed, another workshop has concluded the DSC Control unit and Hydro all together and estimated repair cost is 11K. Almost fainted...but when brought over to K&S, after servicing and reprogramming the SZL ,everything back to normal.

My xmas abs light has also been on for 2 weeks. On warranty with Opal. Trying to fjnd time to bring to work shop. Shiok shiok it goes backbto normal. wo dtc, car seems to be able to fly faster.

Looks like owning a BMW may be just nuts. Pay and pay and pay? Rachel's ABS had issues at 75k kms. Get a 5k discount from 11k to 6k. Wonder how long the ABS pump really lasts? Anyone with an E90 that has done 5 years or maybe 130k kms without problems? If so then we can say its not that bad ... But still ...

Mine is 320i CBU first batch of Aug 2005 production. Registered as grey import here in October 2006. Mileage now is 130k, and the ABS/DSC still works fine. Just triggered with DSC error last month but was due to SZL module. So far so good even car is almost 7 years old.

Welcome to the club of ABS Failures!!!

So glad its not me only and its NOT because of my driving style *relax*

Mine failed at 80k++
Luckily got it replaced under goodwill. Only pay the labor cost. First, they replaced the repair kit, control unit DSC, while maintaining the Hydro DSC. Didn't solve the problem. So, for the second attempt, they replaced both. Then, all back to normal

Now, mileage is around 115k++ for a 2008 E90 325i. So far so good.

Looks like I better start saving up la ... ROFL! This is interesting. So so interesting.
