Helo everyone,Is it true that in general BMW cars are prone to catch fire due to the electronics? I spoken to couple of tow truck drivers and they mentioned that many times when a BMW encountered a head on collision, it will burst into flame.

Was concerned over the "flammability" of e60 as well due to the magnesium engine. A relative's friend's e60 burst into flame while driving (after couple of months being purchased) without really knowing the reason...claimed total loss.

My mechanics told me that this is not common though; usually happen to those modified versions...?

I've seen so many burning cars nowadays... During the first fasting month, I saw a Toyota Fortuner suddenly exploded and caught on fire instantly in front of my school! The driver and the passangers were lucky to stop and get out of the car right on time.

Some say that our cars nowadays are too ''electronic'' that they can easily get an electrical shocks somewhere and cause a fire... Most common I think is the battery shock.
