I took a look at the cable and the part where it connects to the negative terminal is where the sensor resides. I don't know if we can pry that thing open but another problem is no ideas where to find the sensor? I'm glad it's the cable rather than something else like alternator which is more serious, lol. If not I will faint.
hehe... I'll take a peek at mine when I have time.. RM800 for a cable eh?! This I GOTTA SEE!! what kind of alien tech they put inside.. Put inside my Avanza dunno can run faster or not.. :1:
Seriously, this BMW tech never fail to surprise me! Everytime it slaps me on the face.. I just keep asking for more!
Haha, it's freaking expensive for a bloody cable with a sensor inside. I believe all newer BMW models would have this and the purpose is to tell the alternator how to charge the battery :stupid: Technology in the car is really a wonder but if something fails, that's the cost to pay. Actually there's also another supplement cable which costs RM90 but I didn't get that changed since it is still working fine.
AB, thanks for the link. It seems that the negative terminal of newer BMWs are not directly connected to the chasis. All this technology is supposed to prevent owners from getting stuck due to a dead battery.
bro i,m new to this forum, how to solve this problem bro, even i already replace IBs cable and battery but still i receive same message high rate battery discharge...please advice.

hey bro, after replacing the IBS and battery u gotta register the battery using the diag. comp..if after register the problem still there, that means u got a current leakage in ur car electrical system, current leakage is when u off ur car n lock for few hours, theres something that is consuming the battery usually above 80mA, that's is why the IBS picked up the increased current and notify u when u start ur car, usually is the control unit that is consuming the current after u lock ur car, but it might also be due to sensors or loose connectors that is waking up the control unit when ur car is in sleep mode(>30min)

i was on business trip for 2 weeks and when i came back, the first warning that i saw was the "High Battery.... blah blah blah..." i thought, damm, car rather new also can kena. but when i read carefully the message, i think the car was trying to conserve energy by shutting down non-essential items due to bat running low. to date no other issues... touch wood
Yeah, sometimes shit happens Just have to monitor further but despite having this error, you can still drive except you lose all settings on the odometer, etc every time you start your car after leaving it for a few hours.
