I once drove an old 1981 Ford Laser S which had already 'plastic' radiators ends ( the top and bottom bits ). How I know it was plastic? IT BLEW ON ME....darn but wife driving!
There's nothing wrong with plastics, just that when it's a wear & tear item - change! Such things should last at least 5 years old.......normally the hose & connections go first!

Ai yoooo, money does not grow in trees. Cannot afford to be changing such parts like consumables. They are not supposed to be "consumables" in the first place.

Well, they do not make parts like they used to, IMO. For example.... my 11-years old Wira is still on its original water hoses and connections. Rubber still in good condition.
my aunt is not too pleased with her camry 2.4, feels that it's very floaty at high speeds. hmm.. might be a good time to ask her to invest in performance springs n absorbers...
on another my old radiator which had a copper core was replaced with the oem radiator and so far so good. Now with the electric fan conversion the eng temp. is much better controlled...
