E46 aircond problem

i have the same problem when at constant high speed,example on highway cruising at 140kmh air con becomes warm. went to my trusted aircon specialist and need to replace a valve , but have to take out dashboard.

valve cost RM150
labour to take out dashboard RM300 total cost RM450 .
time will be taken maybe 2 days

Well, at least it can be fixed, my air cond problem is weird, until mechs also do not know whats going on......

whenever start my engine, the aircond will auto switch on, if my engine is off overnight, the next day start engine, it will auto on as well plus all settings will be reset.

Ive tried:-

1) ask my mech - dunno?
2) switch off aircond before stop the engine
3) press some switch which was thought by some forummers

Problem still got....sigh! why my aircond auto on by it self whenever i start my engine!!!!!!! arghhhh....are there no sifu in Malaysia know how to solve this sigh

Mine same as yours. Won't bother about it. Just switch it off back before cranking. My friend's e46 also the same. Whenever you switch on the engine, the aircon will auto on.

The only thing is, you've mentioned aircon reset. I'm not sure whether it happens to me. Mine still maintain at the last set temperature, air circulation (outside/inside). :top:

at least now i 've got the idea of the price. the car is underwarranty from dealer for 6 months. if it recurs for the next 3 months, i will ask the salesman to do for me.

the salesman brought for repair.
the sensor changed. it cause rm800. now, so far so good

Reset only on the vent for air circulation settings, the temp and others stay the same. i guess mine has one prob more than urs hehe....anyone knows whats happening?

My air cond is giving problems lately too..
During the night all vents will blow out cold air..
but when during HOT days, when i set the temp at 16 degrees, then only the TWO passenger side vents will blow the cold air meanwhile the two vents of the DRIVER's side will blow out hot air.
I've yet to send it in for check-up @ Naidu..

What could possibly go wrong?? any sifu can enlighten me.. thx

haiyya my e46 also problem maa....detect minor 40 degree then otomatik heater on...haiyaaaa.....somebody has xperience ?

Err almost same like me..Scared if colling coil or compresor kaput

for aircon auto on, ask your dealer to configure it in vehicle and key memory, it's just a matter of tick and untick

Yeah, can reprogram easily with GT1
