E46 AIRBAG LIGHT ON

2 weeks b4...it was light onso the diagnos said the driver site tensioner belt initial circuit errorso the shop changed it for methen the light went offtomoro it went ON backthen the shop said normally the another sensor below the passenger seat of driverduno wat it is called la....need to be changedso changed alsoeverything happy for 1 week...yesteday... my friend adjusted the seatand the was an umberal underneath of it DARNNN the light ON againi heard this is very commong n repeating problem in e46..appreciate you guys advice!!thanks

If it came on from adjusting the seat its a quick fix usually, by a reset or tightening the connection to the sensor underneath it. Takes only a few mins to resolve.

The expensive one is the seat belt tensioner, which from the sound of it, you changed already....

I got the 2nd pwobwem now, the seat belt tensioner and haven't fixed it yet. I wonder where's the best place to do it and how much?

it was fixed this morning

disconnect everything

reset

start car

clear n reset

OKI liao

i stop n drive the car

2-3 times

restart engine

everything so far so good

JPB : seat belt tensioner is bout 5XX-6XX dependin on places u do. seat belt tensioner solved then yer pocket tension, heh

i got both air bag and ASC lights on.after awhile,they went off all of a sudden...

he checked my car and i only need to change the sensor due to tear and wear :cry: :cry: luckily it's because of the sensor and not the computer box,now everything done liao guys!!!!! on the other hand,the air bag problem it's because of the small little spring thingy dc from the dash board metal...i think it's the earth circuit.now everything DONE!!!!!RM 400++ for the sensor.. :cry: :cry:

My advise, get GT1 to diagnose, and make sure the voltage stabilizer securely connected (located in the rear trunk, there is a connector box just above the +ve battery terminal). Weak grounding could have caused the airbag to revert to safe-mode. For some reason it will register incorrect fault. Good Luck.

this problem happen to me too. This is because of my faulty Air Bag sensor under the passenger seat. Didn't change that yet. use GT1 to clear the error on that sensor but got error ...means the sensor totally gone...

my airbag sensor will come out everytime i send my car to cash wash, suspect after vacum it trigger the sensor, i jus bring to my mech to clear faulty code and prob solved, happend few time, its been quiet sometimes and i dont have the problem anymore
