e46 328i ABS & ACS light turn on!!

Dear Sifu,Need your advice... suddenly both ABS & ACS light turn on and not sure what has gone wrong... is anyone facing this problem before? Look forward to receive your help... Thanks...

Not sifu here, hehe..better get it diagnosed with your mech..possible culprits; ABS sensors, ABS control unit, from what i know..did the light come out during driving in the rain?

light turn on next day after rain... and my mech ask me to wait for couple of days and send for him to check.. by the way, how much is the possible part to be change?

As for e39, abs sensor is around 150 per piece if i remember correctly..i suspect yr ABS sensor la bro..i also have the same issue last time..diagnose first before u change..if your control unit, then your wallet will be lightened, not sure how much..rm1k plus i heard..

For ASC equip models, the module cost RM2400 (Bavarian Auto) and you'll need to pay a few hundred for installation. Just pray its the ABS sensor only, mine kaput 2 years back but have not changed it yet.

ABS sensor bro..u can feel some diff in braking while the light is ON. This is because the wrapper already kaput.

get the ABS sensors changed...

i had the same problem before... changed it and waalah..... all warning gone...
forgot how much it cost... you can change one side but advisable to change both... usually the back ABS sensor

thanks alot brothers... I will send to check this Saturday... Hopefullly just sensor... As of now scare to drive fast since warning light already on... The funny thing is.. Just now driving to fetch my wife the light suddenly turn off for 1 min and then turn on again when I turning corner.... Its seem like the contact or wiring of sensor issue!

I googled just now and found that faulty wheel speed sensors trigger the abs and acs light turn on..i guess wheel speed and abs sensor are the same item..anyone?

Yala, wheel speed sensor = abs sensor.

Today done the clearning of all abs sensors... But the problem still remain same... Hv to reset or unplug batteries tomorrow. If still remain same. No choice... Have to change the front sensors first. As rear sensors still can read from speedo meter

Most likely the wheel speed sensor. You did indicate after rain. Quite common those cracked wires exposed. Typically during heavy rain your ABS light is out. Once its get dry and you switch of an on again, the light is off. There are 4 sensors on each wheel. Diagnostic will tell you the problem. Before spending for new one perhaps you may want to check the sensor and wiring. Behind the disc brake. Clean it with contact clearer and perhaps wrap those expose wires with tape. Make sure the 2 wires is not in contact with each others. Can change new wire that you can buy really cheap. Work for me though ... At least for now...

RM230 for front sensor & RM238 for rear sensor... got this from BA in SS2

There is 2 types, one is chocolate color and other one is blue color, make sure u buy the correct one.
