Hi all,I am "usha-usha" both model as target. On papers both engine produced similar HP but 328 pack more torque. I had drove my broth 528 E39 and it pull from 60kmh to 120kmh like less than 5 sec with no gearchanging:top:. But I never try 325.Some said the extra roadtax of RM600 is worth for it goes. But some said 325 is good enough for the size compare to E39, also most efficient and reliable. And 330 is way to expensive.Need your opinion guys....

323 is basically same as 325...theres a huge debate about it...not here..but other forums.

328...go for it..just bmw's way of marketing..same as 323/325...

but with 328...you're most likely going for a year 1999-2000 model I guess. 325 you have newer models..

im also targetting at 325 or 328. in dilemma because dont really know what are the difference, putting engine specs aside. assuming both are not facelifted model, what are the difference?

Raod tax 4 2.5 = RM800+ 2.8 = RM1600+ 3.0 = RM2100+

So it is not RM600 dif in roadtax then but RM800.:smokin: Even more to think about its worth

Frankly speaking, I don't think I can afford those facelift 325. But 328 year 2000 look like it. But still considering if there are similar price bracket for 325 as well.

323 is quite rare but then my opinion why should i chose de-tune engine if there is 325.

What do you mean de-tune? Try racing a stock 323 and 325 or try driving this 2..you can feel almost no difference.

Im also having this prob .... but in terms of roadtax im seriously considering 325

Er.. I heard some said it produce lower hp:rolleyes:. Sorry if I am wrong... Never check the fact is it correct?

Well, is there any diff between 325 facelift and pre-facelift? If not significant, then 325 pre-facelift is worth considering.

Here's the difference.

Model: 325i
Engine: M54B25
Production: 2001 - 2007
Power: 181 hp
Torque: 245 Nm
0-100 km/h: 7.2 s

Model: 328i
Engine: M52TUB28
Production: 1998 - 2000
Power: 190 hp
Torque: 280 Nm
0-100 km/h: 7.0 s

The E46 328i's engine is actually just a technical update (TU) from the E36 328i's engine. If I were you, I'd go for the 325i coz it uses newer engine and power also not much different.

TQ, crymson,

I would like that idea too. Probably the only way I can do is to wait for another year to see E46 325 price below RM90k.:stupid: Or got to do partime earn. Err, can not tahan laa....

Anybody wanna let go 325? We nego slow transferring. I promise to take good care to your baby... he he he... Kidding only.

Need not to wait any longer just grab and enjoy the ride!
Enjoy while you can! :burnout:

Yeah... the recent petrol price hike give me hope if the those above 2 ltr car price will drop some more. Hopefully within 2 months. The best part if road tax price also reduce. Then I could be tempted to get 328... 280nm of torque... slurrp!... then FC would be what now?... 28sen vs 40sen/km?...

I don't think petrol prices are an issue for personal driving. Most affected parties would be transportation for goods..stuff like that. For me even if petrol is rm3-4 per litre still doesn't matter cause I pay $1.60 aud here haha

You should set-aside an average of RM300-500 per month for maintenance and wear & tear of your car. Not just for your monthly bank loan.

Btw, just fyi, with the fuel price increase, my 328i's monthly petrol bill is additional RM200. Monthly average before petrol price increase was RM600.

i am also contemplating to buy a E46 328, i currently drive a E46 318..but unfortunately with the recent hike in petrol prices it chills up my spine to own a E46 328..but again before i start assuming more i should be asking u sifus who own a E46 328..hows the petrol consumption on the baby ? thanks

2000 E46 328i
Warning light on straight away refuel RM105-110 (old price) can get me between 450-480km. This is commuting between Sri Petaling, Old Klang Road, PJ, Subang and Shah Alam. Normal driving style with occasionally pedal to the metal.

Maintenance is about RM360++ for every 5000km using Total Semi and change oil and air filter.

It is a good idea to save another RM200-300 every month for future major wear and tear replacement.

straight out bro thats not bad at all!, so assuming highway driving ud be copping easy 500-550kms. thats really impresive being a 2.8. it certainly gives the e36 318 some competition on fuel consumption. but is it an expensive car to maintain ?the one im gettin comes with 18 inch rims so im assuming consumption is gonna be alil bit more higher but well thats acceptable.

Guys - go feel the exhilarating torque of the 328 - its awesome and you'll love it!

328i e46 a bit old cos only 99-00 and price around 90k
325i from 01-05 price... 10xk-...140k or something like that
anyway 325i has 192PS/245Nm and 328i has 193PS/280Nm. (328i e36 275nm, no TU at the name which is double vanos or something.)
