Hi all,Does anyone know if it's possible to change the 4-spoke multi-function steering of an E46 to 3-spoke? Will there be any compatibility issues?Roughly how much would that cost? 3-spoke multi-function steering? labour?Thanks a million!

no worries, mine original also 4 spoke (without multifunction) and i change it to 3 spoke sport steering, no problem at all, but u need to send to someone who know how to install it. it cost 200 for the installation and around 4-5 hours in stuggart, u need GT1 to reset the airbag after the installation. i can use the volume and channel button on the multifunction but my car dun have cruise control so all the right hand multifunction button is unusable. if u have cruise control, then u can have all your left and right hand button working.Sungazer;193165 said:

it sounds like they are both perfectly compatible and should not have issues later on? eg. airbag won't deploy in an accident *touch wood*

errr...u gona change to 3 spoke right? the steering yes u can get arnd rm700...but the airbag.....unless u can get at the chop shop.....the ori will cost rm 3k it self bro....

your 4 spoke steering airbag is squre and your 3 spoke steering should be round, if that is the case, both airbag is definately not compatible, ezain is right, the round airbag brandnew cost more than 3K and its difficult to get a secondhand
locally you're looking at a 5-6k job....2.3-2.5k for the 3 spoke multifunctional steering and the rest for the infernal air bag....! if you're trading up from a 318i and its a pre-2000 model then you may need an additional add on for the air bag and multifunctional buttons!
