All, ...because of this vibration, I had to do over 130 km/h!! Done balancing and alignment, but still there. Could this be due to out of shape tyre or wheel? But I'm sure the mech will inform be when they did the balancing. The vibration is light, at 2 'beats' per second and the rate does not increase with speed. Which I guess would rule out the tyre/wheel issue. Aerodynamic issue?... I don't think so... Anyone had this? What could be the problem? (By the way, as posted in the Car & Detailing section, 20% off on Meguiar's stuffs at Parkson Subang Parade)

maybe vibrates still but focusing on the road more at that speed.

for sure 100-120 it's noticeable.

astrocreep

i'm not an expert.

could be your tire

or try to do balancing of your front wheels using 'beissbarth' machine. it works all the time for me....... no need to do on-wheel alignment......

go to fireblade's shop. our forumer shop. his beissbarth machine is new......

E39 have complicated suspension system like E32,E34,E38 and very hard to point out and can be nightmare :).

Check your entire front end suspension system if tyre rule out.

Good Luck

chairoger: Opphh!! sounds expensive! Do you know how much? Where would you recommend to have this checked?

Already last week the rear 'system' been checked and some items changed = upper rear arm, some bushings. I don't know how to describe, but previously, the rear of the car felt like behaving on it's own, unpredictable, especially when cornering and hit a unlevelled surface even at low speed. The rear felt like 'jumping' away.

eddiefiola: Where is fireblade's shop?

Thanks if anyone could recommend me where to go for full check-up.
I'm sure publicbus would want to join.

Tak boleh join bro, I am in Penang.

Previously when got the car, it had Sachs lowered springs. The previous owner was using it for about 1 yr, 20k++ km.

I changed back to ori 6 months ago.

What's your opinion?

Did you have the same vibrations while on the sach lowered springs setup?

mate',
well i thinkin maybe it's the steering rack, coz sometimes even the mechanic might not spot this.well, did u check ur tension strut and steering knuckles?

AstroCreep, i had the same vibration. But mine is at 120 - 130 km/h..what i did was to have my tire's do the ON WHEEL BALANCE. After doing that...no more vibration..
