Of course will feel the difference between 2.8/2.5 and 2.2, ie underpower, power craving, etc, but what the heck, as long as the car suits for my use, it's enough. Pre-2000 520i's would probably not be suitable but post 520i's would be good right, since it's a M54 2.2 engine? 525 is also ok, can consider. They range between 110k to 120k for a used unit, year 2001. If not 5er, than Toyota Wish laa.

Hello bro, for me I had make up the range either to posses 3 series or even 5 as well. If your age now between 20's to 35th you might grab the 3 series regardless of 2.0L, 2.3L, 2.5L, 2.8L or 3.0L. This only meant for power of the machine. And of course the road tax table also increase gradually by the cc. Nevertheless the chassis are the same across the board. You can upgrade to 5 series then, E60 for instead once your financial is stable when u reach 36 years old and fade on around 50. Question yourself, in a month, how many times u drive more than 180 km/h ? Once you get the answer, I believe you can make the right choice already.
