Has anybody tried Bavarian Soundwerks (BSW) on E39? They offer a series of replacement [upgrade] speakers, subs and amps for E39. Do you know where I could find this product in Klang Valley?

Cheers.

Eurotuners has them. They are a drop-in for the existing stock speakers, no cutting, fabricating, same holes.

Calvin thinks th make an immediate improvement over the stock speakers. I was there last month and he had a set. He also has yummys like Morels.

Have anyone fitted Dominations. I am very impressed with them when I heard it in a Honda Odyssey and its made in Indonesia. Great response across all ranges especially low end with just 2-way component. Quite cheap.

Bro, for E60 and E90, you can use what I found for my E87, direct swap (with some minor mods for E60 if not mistaken)

Gladen Audio Xion-200

http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/showthread.php?42732-My-UDM-2&p=693584&viewfull=1#post693584

My E87 didn't come with front tweeters (door), surprisingly enough, behind the speaker mesh was empty. This Xion-200 comes with a pair of tweeters, so they are no longer empty.

Bro you could call up Eurotuner Calvin for best price. Saw list price at RM3800.

is that just for bsw speakers? leaving aside possible discount, at that price level should consider speakers (front only) and amp combo and chances are it'll sound better.

Thanks bro seewai, erica34.. It's not bsw, the brand is AudioSystem from Germany. You can find out more about this brand at http://www.audiosystem-europe.com/

This offer direct fit to most BMW model without modification or adding amplifier. It is plug and play to most stock BMW sound system while keeping the original look. And offer significant sound quality improvement over the stock system by just changing the speakers.

We have done this upgrade for some BMW owners and below is one of the example from our happy customer E70 X5 + some comparison between stock vs. AudioSystem. Enjoy!

Calvin,

Quick question. I used audio system twister series before about probably 5 years ago. From what i know it was supposed to be from Italy. Was distributed by the same people who did steg and audison. hence the warm characteristic of the amp.
Small in size but powerfull amps :). Just curious as it seems now from your website it is refering to german but yet the website promotes mosconi which is one of the new top italian amp.

cheers

It's from Germany bro

Audio Systems was never from Germany last time....have they been bought over?

back in the days of local IASCA scene, alot of them used Audio Systems and Steg for competition
of coz now everyone talks about EMMA....but hell...no longer in the competition mode....so not really bothered about these awards

for the price of RM3k plus plus, there r so many speakers to choose from

Eton Discovery or Adventure Series from Germany
PHD from Italy
Vifa from Denmark
Micro Precision
Alpine Type-X Pro if i'm not mistaken....OEM made by Vifa with ring radiator tweeters
DLS from Denmark
McIntosh
Focal

there r a lot more to just brands and models.....
installation skill & tuning skill plus the right setup is important.....

I think now the usual ICE TT gang also slow down....if any regular KL ICERs back in 2004 to today, those who know youngaccordguy, PISCES, hushymushy, thirunash, TIB, jykl and etc.....good to c u in this forum.....n u prolly know who am I by now...hahahahahaha

so back to the main topic....just wanna share with everyone....

actually I'm new in this Forum......I'm about to collect my E39 in the next two weeks

plan to put back my old trusty ICE system into the E39 but haven't really decided on d speaker mounting positions n all

HU: Alpine F1 7990. Display got problem d. If can't find parts, may change to McIntosh MX5000
AMP: McIntosh MCC404M
Speakers: Dynaudio MK240II with custom made passives xover
Subs: Dynaudio MW190

unknown factors:
1. capability of BM to produce enough juice to power up d ICE system above. Prolly needs about 4amps (based on my last measured utilization)
2. wiring route yet to be identified....may not be able to use back my old cables
3. front doors may not be deep enough for my 7" mids...if tat happens...then I'm doomed....either i change d speakers or i cut open d door which I don't want
4. tweeter mounting another issue. A pillars have airbags if i'm not mistaken.

but its fun right having such challenge....plus this cabin is larger than my previous car....tuning another issue where the subs are way back n i don't use processors

those who have installed ICE, if I wire the power cables directly from the battery, will it impact the car? of coz d battery die faster...which is common for any ICERs car....but its better than having other stuffs mati

Hi Pam, welcome to the forum, not sure you've already done so by now but please introduce yourself at the newbie section.

My E39 original sound system really sucks big time but like you mentioned "installation skill & tuning skill plus the right setup is important....." and the $$ factor has been holding me back for a while, this also allows me to use the $$ for upkeeping the ride hehehe.

Hi Pam

I do not remember any girl during IASCA days.... hehehe. Anyways, glad to hear that there is a person from the old days. I too purchased an E39 last year but have not installed my ICE. I still have them and its collecting dust. I remember Yoke also played ICE but battery died very quickly and installation was tough. He did it at KK Lau.

jaar = johan?
