E39 ASC + ABS + Electronic Transmission

Hi Everyone,Need to check whether any of you had experience this. ASC + ABS + Electronic Transmission indicator on. Car having difficulties to move. I previously had the ASC + ABS on but it goes off by itself. My Mech came to check (can't access to ABS) and reset the system, then everything went well. No indicators on again.Pls advise do I need to change the ABS sensor or ??? BUT how come by reseting the car is back to normal again?. Don't dare to drive until the problem is resolved.Thanks.

Had similiar experience before. The engine will not be able to engage 1st & 5th gear. This means, you are running between 2nd to 4th gear only . Changed the ABS Module Unit costing RM 2k+. For E39, this appeared to be a common problem due to the heat in the engine bay. Fixing a heat shield will prolong the life span of this unit.

Buy the used one then cheaper lo..A lot in Chan Saw Lin.

my one also,,, plug out the abs unit connector, then the gear box will free again,,,, ur e39 must be year 2002 above,, the abs part no,, the last few digit must 0005,,,,,

My advise is go Brand new if you can afford it. No headache for next five or six years. Don't be penny wise pound foolish. Somethings are just not meant for a temporary solution

there is no standard heat shield. All are custom-made, malaysia boleh creations. Check out initialm's thread. He made one. I have one too, made by BMWorks Batu Caves.

I had this experience 4 maybe 5 years ago, hate to say this .......check the gearbox

Yes it is true that the ABS control Unit was faulty.

Morale of the story ... anything related to electronic parts it is better to get brand new or otherwise potong kereta would be the alternative. If you are fixing a brand new ABS Control Unit, they need to do some programming to your car which is not that expensive RM150-RM200.

For your information, if you have kaki at potong kereta.. the ABS control Unit can get as low as RM750.00 (depending on the model).

03-79815459 and got the brand new price for RM2150.

My mech in Puchong JAY CAR CARE fixed it for me. Classmate known him for 22 yrs.
