Here are some pics. A deep gloss was achieved, and it's a huge improvement. Well, it is in my opinion; it might not be everyone's cup of tea....

Exactly the same we got there :

Is the trim initially the usual wood grain found on most cars?? Or is it originally piano black?

Mine is the standard wood trim and i was thinking of having something like yours...deep black gloss.

Im not sure how the previous owner do it, i think u can send to a good paint shop and ask them to spray it. Hope bro james63 will answer you.

He already posted this in another thread but started this thread on the same subject...http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/showthread.php?42252-E38-728i-interior-trim-change

Where & who did it was detailed there..wonder why he started 2 threads on the same subject..

But if you go back further..this is the 3rd thread on the same subject..

Cheers :)

I like the wet glossy look! Nice! What's the damage and where did you do it James?

Sorry, you will have to look at a previous thread for Mr Foong's details.

You guys are now beginning to get the idea of how rubbish I am at this computer stuff. It took me days to get pics attached, and I wanted to attach more, but for some unknown reason half of them got lost in the ether. Anyway, the job on the trim cost me RM1500. I didn't negociate, because I wanted to be in a position to tell him to do it again if he messed it up.

I personally vouch for Veng Cheong..all my cars have been painted there, no issues on their service..

Won't say they are the cheapest but definitely value for money in my opinion. Yes, they handle quite a number of restorations too..have seen a BMW Isetta 3 wheeler there awaiting restoration, made inquiries but owner not willing to part with it whatever the price..super rare specimen..

Apart from that, have seen Rolls, Merc, Porsche 356, Ferraris, BMWs..even the 6er owned by HRH Sultan of Selangor..but I won't buy that car lah..the mods not to my taste..

Cheers :)

Oh, the one along Jalan Kilang? I've seen some awesome machinery there before. Ferraris, E24s, a massive Ford 4x4 from the States...
