Hi guys, Well was doing some surfing last nite and came across this site:- http://www.wisebuyers.co.uk/motoring/car-specifications/BMW/3+Series+(1991-99)/ It specifies the various versions of E36 sold in UK and if you click further, you'll find the list of standard equipment on the particular version. Of course information in Malaysia is much more limited. I think that the E36 in Malaysia was introduced in 1992 with a 318i (M) which was carried forward from the E30. Then there was 318i(A)......b/w 1993-1999? 325i(A) b/w 1993-1996? 328i(A) b/w 1996-1999? All other versions must have been imported. The biggested difference b/w imported models and local ones was the imported ones had 5 speed auto box instead of 4 speed as in the CKDs. Any further input or comments guys. I am also not too sure as to the various years above. Thanks.

Got another version they sold in '94/'95: 325i(M) with of course manual tranny, m-tec suspension, sports seats, sports steering & M3 bodykit.

Sorry guys. Just for the record does anyone care to specify the various specs?

Thanks

This is what I know on the locally assembled scene...

318i(M) - 92-95 (limited - M40 or M43 engine?)
318i(A) - 92-99 (any M40? all I know are M43, various trim and option, most popular model)
325i(M) - 92-93? (M50)
325i(M) - 94-95 (M50TU single Vanos - sports edition)
325i(A) - 92-93? (M50)
325i(A) - 94-95 (M50TU single Vanos, engine management changed from Bosch to Siemens in 1995)
328i(A) - 95-99 (M52)
