Hi guys,I would like to get your opinion in how I want to get the right tire's setting for my 18" rim stagged 8.0 front and 9.0 rear. Currently I'm using 235/40 front and 245/40 rear and got issued of rubbing when facing a rough road.

From my research on some stuff I found out that anything wider than 8.5J for our rims is NOT advisable, especially when you're using fully adjustable suspension setup.

For 8J front you might want to consider using 225/40. Rear is fine for 245, maybe try 35 instead of 40. Also, you're not specific with the rubbing as to where it's rubbing and whether it's inside or outside of the fender/wheel arch. Some can be remedied with simple camber adjustment.

Currently Im using bilstein B8 mono tube. My friend also told me to change to 225/40 at the front and 235/40 at the rear for better clearence. Fyi, the location for the rubbing was inside the fender / wheel arch. Will try to solve it this evening. Thanks mate for your responded. :top:

If it's the inside wall then I think your tires are just too wide. 225 and 235 as per your friend's advice would definitely solve the problem.

8J front on 225 ET38 should not rub during full lock turns. I'm currently using 225/40 8.5J ET35 for my fronts and it rubs the inner wheel arch when I turn full lock. In fact the rims actually touch my shock's adjustment ring at a certain height that's why I'm forced to use 5mm spacers in the front or either adjust the height higher or lower to clear the rims.

Anyway do let us know once the problem is solved.

cheers.
