my car , if after going thru undulating road at speed at 80 & above will tend to swerve left or right . Wondering any of your e36 is having tis problem.Have changed the suspension for the front, and using michellin pilot 205/50....Hope to hear from you people as it is very unpleasant to drive....

Try check the rear absorbers. Your car swerve or yaw might be due to loss of damping (absorber leaks or internal damage).

might be a case of misalignment. experienced that changing from stock 205's to 225 width tyres.. bump steer etc was more pronounced. wheel alignment solved the problem. u might wanna consider that...

cheers!
michael

That's right. Bumpsteer is toe change with vertical travel. It will make your car yaw at undulating surface if the rear bumpsteer gradient is high. You can reduce the bumpsteer gradient by lowering the toe control arm vertical direction. Foe E36, try adjust the rear toe at alignment shop. Ask them to set at original rear toe/alignment setting.

wafs328,

most excellent and detailed explanation...!!!

yes, tramlining is prevalent, especially on lowered cars...

a good alignment shop shud be able to sort it out...

Yup, agree 100%
U redo ur alignment and readjust ur camber. Problem will be solved. Mine was done at Lim Tayar Melawati. They do great job where alignment and camber are concerned.

I think you have to take your problem up a higher level. Seems like service side dun really know what's happening. Nor are concerned with finding out.
