E36 overhaul & gearbox change

Hi there everyone....new to this forum so minta "tunjuk ajar" la...haha.....1)how much would it cost to do a top overhaul for a M52B28 (E36 328i) ???2)did some research n hav found that the E39 528i shares the same engine as the E36 328i,correct ??? if so then is it possible to swap the old 4 speed on the 328i with the 5 speed steptronic of the 528i ???

If u serious i had one unit auto 4 speed with good condition at cheras.I just change mine engine so got extra gearbox

1. Do a search on the forums, I'm pretty sure it's listed somewhere.

2. Never heard anyone attempting that before, but logically I don't think the E36 ECU can accept the E39 gearbox.

Search under E36 maintenance in this forum and you'll find all the cost. But just to enlighten you.... I just did mine, cost RM2200
