Hi guys... i just changed my rear disc for my beemer but the spareparts shop has 2 kinds .. one is a solid disc and the other ventilated... the question is...to upgrade to ventilated disc i also need new calipers but will the braking performance increase or its a waste of money? thanks guys for your opinion....

Really?

As for increase performance, it might be marginal.. with ventilated ones it will cool off better, thus providing better hard braking/during high speeds.

Whats the price difference between solids & vented?

both the same price but i cant fit ventilated ones on my rear due to the disc is too thick for the caliper... so i just changed to the solid ones. but if the difference is a lot then i would consider to change it

for ventilated ones you need to change the caliper .... interms of price ventilated is slightly higher compared to the single disc plate type...as for performance ..it stops marginal faster under high speed stop ...

Thanks bro chrix and iceman for your explanations ...this is one thing i didn't notice and i assumed all e36's was solid disc on the rear.
