Hello guys!Glad that i found this forum, i hope i will get some much appreciated help and advice here. Here is the case:My mom drives an e36 318i with an automatic gearbox.A couple months ago it developed a problem, whenever the auto gearbox is in 1st gear and accelerating within a certain range of rpm, it rattles! and from what i can tell, it's rattling more or less directly under the handbrake lever.lets say starting the car from a stand still, the rattling will start approximately 1sec after the start of acceleration and ends only after the auto gearbox shifts into the next gear. and when the rattling occurs, there's a lost of power compared to when there wasn't a rattling. the rattling does not occur in any other gears.i hope someone here is kind enough to share their knowledge about this problem, what is the cause, how to fix the problem, what parts needs to be replaced, and where should the car be sent to have the problem rectified.Ps: hoping to have the problem solved at the lowest cost possible. Thanks in advance, guys! :top:
