E34: Powerless

Frenz,I have problem starting the car in the morning. After sending to my workshop, my mechanic changed some sensor & valve, the problem settled but I sense some loss of power. The pick up reduced and I can feel the car having slight difficulty climbing a slope to my house. Went back to the workshop, he checked his computer and said that everything is as per original setting. And he said that is the normal power produced by the 520i which is quite low. But having driven the car daily, I know that my car performance is slightly low. I can no longer enjoy the UDM feel.Getting very frustrated. Any input or advise?

Try resetting your ECU. Take out the battery for overnight and then plug it in next morning.

Someone told me that faulty exhaust pipe can affect the car performance. He advise me to check it up since it wont appear during computer check. Anybody can confirm this?

u could try to check the fuel pump as its also will cause u the loose of the power if the pump is loosing their age.

Just disconnect the negative terminal.
The ECU learns your style of driving & after sometimes its totally off the defaut factory seting...this procedure are only to reset the ECU back to the factory setting...some claim better mileage & smoother drive...others might not agree, well...its up to the individual.

if not wrong e34 is M50TU25, M52 is E39's engine code
