E34 m20 to m50 manual conversion

hey guys,my brother is after some info.He has a manual m20 525i.How should he go about converting to a manual m50 525i?No chance finding a manual e34 m50 halfcut been to many chopshops with no luck.m50 or s50 e36 manuals are quite common, what changes need to be made to get this to fit in an e34?thanks in advance.

get a auto e34 m50 halfcut and transfer everythign over. then later get a manual box separately. will be much easier that way. very hard to find a manual e34 halfcut.

my mechanic says its different and the corresponding e34 parts are impossible to find.

Mostly the manual gearbox can fit 6 cycle engine ,e36 and e34 manual gearbox are same!

The difference part e34 & e36 just the long shaft and final drive .

yup...a manual m50 box will fit. long shaft you can cut n mod to fit, no problems there. once u get a m50 2.5, come see me and i'll introduce you to 3.2 litres and turbo or s/charger. hehehe....:top:

thanks for the info. He's not so sure about modding the longshaft though...

3.2L and FIed. Wish I could afford that.

All 6 cycle 5MT gearbox Sure can fit. 6MT gearbox also can fit.Dun worry.

i use 520 engine the old model(ketam)...

I wonder how u move the car if u swap to auto with ur current 2 litre engine.... =.=
