E34 central locking unit

Guys,I am having problems with my central locking unit. Sometimes ok sometimes not, most of the time not ok so have to manually lock each door....sometimes also cannot lift the pins, get this 'soft feeling'...have to on off engine like to reset then only can....Any ideas for a quick and cheap method to fix this problem? Can the car accessory shop guys do some sort of bypass? Thanks

Check the General Module under left rear seats. Try swapping the module if your mechanic place has spare.

u can get it from chop shop that specialises in bmw..ask them the general module below the rear seat...price varies from RM150 to RM250...there is a workshop in Kuchai Lama that have this module..if u want to know where it is, just let me know..

my driver's side door lock has a problem.it suddenly cant lock or unlock the door.i must unlock and hop from passanger side to driver side .duh! and sometimes when i unlock,the pin suddenly lock back. sampai kadang2 aku terkurung kt dlm keta .
the mechanic said theres nothing i can do except to change the whole system and using separate key.
im not settled it yet until today .huhu

well nasib baik la wiring.hehe i better check electrical side before doin some major change on spare parts..there's a relay box or some kind of module below rear sit rite?im not looking at it yet..

Intermittent lock/unlock issue on a specific door is likely due to lock actuator located inside each door.

have had same problem. settled mine by using aftermarket pistol(gun or actuator as some call it)... now all my doors work well. my accessories guy used back the pin holes as not to cut the original wiring so i can revert back to ori system if i want to. cheers.
