Hi all.. i have a feeling that my e30 height rate looks weird. Currently my setup is stock shock with eibach pro kit with spring pad on. But the rear look weird cause the rear left looks about 3 and a half finger drop and the rear right looks about 3 finger drop. its looks strange .. what's the problem?

it is quite difficult to find an E30 with similar height left and right. why? i dunno....

Supposedly, left side is higher just a touch, so that when driver sits in the car, it gets near the desired left-right balance. For us right hand drive models though, too bad lol.

Will it makes a different if i change my shock to bilstein or koni sport shock? its pretty annoy seeing the rear higher than the front

Bro,

This is normal. You can check any BMW from this era and it will display this difference in ride height.

To understand this, we must remember that these cars were designed to be left hand drive from the beginning. It is to compensate the weight of the driver during SOV driving so that it will maintain a level ride height. Also, on left hand drive roads, the gradient of the roads are the opposite to ours here for water channeling.

One only realises this when the ride hide is lowered bcos now your tyres are closer to the wheel arch and this makes it visually more apparent. You can go measure a stock standard e30 and you will find that this difference is there, only not obvious.

Any issues you might ask....In my many years of tinkering and tracking with e30s, I can assure you that there is no problem. It does not cause any handling or ride issues.

Should you find that you cannot accept this visual problem, add some spacers to the absorber mounting on the lower side untill you are happy.

Hope this helps. Btw, this issue has been discussed so many times over the years, good to re-share once in a while.:top:

hahahahaha what are u talking about. I had mine removed (rear springs that is) ever since I owned my e30 (that's 3 full years)
apart from that many of the e30 guys are doing it without any single issue.
How could it be premature parts wear and tear when rear springs don't even move not to mention car is sitting on the springs.
FYI spring pads do not make you ride confortable, shocks and springs does.

Check how many of them have removed their spring pads in here.
