Greeting guys..:wink:I am looking forward to grab my 1st car which is E30 and I need some help from all sifus.Frankly speaking, I am not very keen with cars. I just barely know 2 engine part which visible to my eye: radiator and battery. So, don't get angry if i can't catch up...I don't earn much reason but, I am very (read:VERY) interested with E30. Not for the performance but for his vintage look. I WILL traveling with my E30 to and from works about 16 a day. So here's my question:1.Which E30 that have 4 doors? I did attached one image as a sample. My best guess is 318i. I've been confused with 318, 320,325 as I googling around the webs. And what the different?2. How much (in RM) should i expect if i am looking forward for e30, with (still) good engine, nice exterior. My planning is to buy 2nd hand one and only refurnish the interior @ exterior cause I know nothing about the engine.. unless someone patient enough to guide me..3. How much (in RM) should i expect for monthly maintenance + petrol? Is it fuel efficient? Or is there any specific engine to suit my needs?4. Does e30 spare parts come easy and not so costly?

1.Which E30 that have 4 doors? I did attached one image as a sample. My best guess is 318i. I've been confused with 318, 320,325 as I googling around the webs. And what the different?
A: 318 means 3 series with 1.8 liter engine, 320 means 3 series with 2.0 liter engine and 325 means 3 series with 2.5 liter engine. I think all variants have 4 doors.
2. How much (in RM) should i expect if i am looking forward for e30, with (still) good engine, nice exterior. My planning is to buy 2nd hand one and only refurnish the interior @ exterior cause I know nothing about the engine.. unless someone patient enough to guide me..
A: You mean "used" cause 2nd hand almost imposible to find. Most already changed hand more than twice. Price varies depend on condition. (the latest e30 already reaching 16/17 years old). Expect to pay RM15-RM18K for a good one (my guest)
3. How much (in RM) should i expect for monthly maintenance + petrol? Is it fuel efficient? Or is there any specific engine to suit my needs?
A: Check out the e30 maintenance thread, you can estimate from there. My opinion 318 is good for you
4. Does e30 spare parts come easy and not so costly?
A: Yeah, its easy and cheap compare to the new cars now days. hi...hi...

Welcome, I started my first UDM was E30 two door (coupe) 320 M20. It's not M3. M3 spec is for performance. Very rare original in Malaysia, >rm35k I guess (if have ori).
There are off and on E30 selling in classified forum, good luck.
Budget around rm18k can get good and well done up car.

my personal opinion is better u get e30 318i m40 engine cause is above year 87 got less rust problem.it still easy to get e30 part cause there still a lot of part & the the price is reasonable,some of the part is cheapper then japan car.my 318i m40 petrol price is about 0.20 sen-0.22sen per km.for a good condition e30 year above 87 is about 15k-18k.

Thanks, i did some research where as i notice someone from somewhere stated that e30 been manufacturer with galvanized body@metal. Maybe it's 1987 and above like u said.

good choice on the e30 dude, lovely car. i would guess an estimate of 15-18k for a good original car is about right. do some research arnd the websites including this one, there are some gems waiting to be found here. usually if u are talking about paint jobs, here in subang for a full colour change is about 3k (metallic) inside out. interior depends on the material really. good luck bro. e30 is the way to go

I'M also a newbies in knowing the E30...it is late model so it is to hard to find E30 panel body that comes with no RUST !! so as my advice..
1- PLEASE DO NOT SEE OR CHECK THE CAR AT THE MAKE UP CONDITION..NEED TO KNOW THE BODY CONDITION ...[ DON'T BE LIKE ME ] HUHUHUHU:102:
2- PLEASE DON'T DEAL AT NIGHT..WHY ?? BECAUSE YOU WULL SEE THE CAR IS SOOOO PRETY BUMBIESSS BUT ACTUAL !!!
