Dear guys, 3 to 4 months back ago while i was driving, suddenly a loud knocking sound (tik tik tik) came from the engine bay. I stopped my car on the road shoulder immediately to check what was wrong. I noticed that there was a screw popping out from the altenator which was being hit by the altenators spinning propeller (the one being propelled by the belt) which created the loud ticking sound. So I gently pulled out the screw which is around 5 inches in length. I noticed that the threads on the screw were worn out and almost invincible.Next day I visited my mech and he told me it's normal for an old car and not to worry because the altenator has 4 screws, so loosing one of it is not a problem. The following month the same thing happened. Another screw came popping out creating that loud ticking sound. Took the screw out and went to see my mech again and he said shouldn't be a problem with 2 screws left. The following month repeated AGAIN. I didn't bother about it and pulled out the 3rd screw.A week ago, the last screw came off. I guess now I'm driving with a screwless altenator. But it seems to be intact and nothing is loose as far as i'm concern. Was wondering whether anyone has encountered this problem before. Pls share and advise.Still driving screwless.P/S: These 4 screws are situated in between the altenator's propeller and the altenator.Regards.Kelvin
