e12 M5 (535i)

Hi, just sharing an advert i found in mudah,my

its not my car, i havent seen it and have no involvement with the sale whatsoever.

however, if my eyes is correct, the car for sale in in fact an e12 m5, based on the s90 engine under the hood and the m-sport seat.

asking price is RM18,000.00

Yes, it's an e12 M535i alright. I paid a deposit for it this morning. As far as I could tell, it's only missing the rear spoiler and toolkit. My plan is to register it as a classic car and then use it as it is whilst collecting parts for a restoration in the future.

Perhaps, but it's difficult to put a value on such cars, no? They only built 450 in RHD, 1,410 in total, and this was the basis for the E28 M5, so it's time as an underappreciated classic should end.

Thanks. I'll be sure to start a thread when I start the restoration, but I don't foresee the restoration happening anytime soon.

I would love to see the car too...LOL...I bought it through a friend who viewed the car on my behalf and then sent me photos of the bits confirming its authenticity. I should be collecting it before Christmas and will post up some photos when I do.

To register it as an antique car, what advantageous do we get from the Gomen ?

Cheaper roadtax ?

Yes, an 80% discount. This car was registered as a classic car with the JPJ in 2014, but I'll have to re-apply because of the ownership transfer.
