i think maybe its good time to send your car in to BMW authorised dealer (such as IA) for a thorough checkup if you havent done so in the past. afterall, they are better equipped with BMWs knowledge overall.

same problem with me..i just changed the abs sensor of my rear left side, then all problem gone.i done it at seong hoe bmw malacca cost me rm44 for checking error..this thing really cant check at outside workshop, must check at bmw SC or authorised dealer, they use different machine to checki and when i check at outside workshop, the error cannot be appear.abs sensor i bought frm sparepart shop cost me rm330 include labour.after changed problem 100% solve..my ride is e46..just my sharing :)

Hi all I've being driving with the ABS + ASC error for 3 month now. I think the ASC is working as I can hear the sound my car breaking when I take sharp cornering. Maybe the ABS gone. But it is still dangerous as when the ASC kick in the break will stuck since no ABS. Some mech quoted me RM 3k (6 Month Warranty) and some second hand module with pump for RM2K. this is the problem for E46 318i 2002 model where as for 2004 and above they have split unit for angle sensors and abs sensors. Sent my car to Ingress Auto to check and they quoted me RM 5k for the Comp Box and RM 8K with pump. They told me for 2002 model as always the whole units need to be change instead just the sensors. Anybody has the experience change with second hand please advice...

I brought my E46 baby to see my mechanic earlier today. Odometer reads 47.7k-km. Generally to do TLC of the baby and further diagnose on why there was DSC and brake warning lights lighted up every now and then (never persisted though).

Diagnosis gave the following - Fault Code: F5E24 (pressure sensor not plausible: pressure sensor 1/2) :dontknow:; Fault Code: F5E20 (pressure sensor 1 accident recognition); Fault Code: F5E21 (pressure sensor 2 accident recognition). My mechanic's prognosis was one of these may have occurred: 1) the pressure sensors were faulty, 2) the brake master pump was faulty , or 3) both 1 and 2. :20::20:

He loaned me his two extra pressure sensors and did a complete pressure bleed-down of the brake system (aka brake fluid flushing). Low and behold the warning lights dissappeared. Both my mechanic and I have test driven the car since 6pm today and the warning lights remain "no show". :top::top::top: Touch wood it will last. I'll share more of this in future and I'm praying hard that the report out will read "no more warning lights".

p/s anybody knows how much is the estimated price for the brake master pump for year 2005 E46 (the one with pressure sensors with two brackets instead of one bracket)? Anybody has experienced changing the thing?

check ur ABS pump if not mistaken..if the cable loose then might be the culprit also

I just faced the same problem while on the way back from hometown. Upon checking, pressure sensor kaput and have it changed cost RM530....

happened 2 me before...

one of 2 scenario:

your ABS sensor is blocked by dust, dirt, water...

There are 2 pressure sensors located at the master cylinder, just under at the side of the control unit+hydraulic unit. Usually it will be fault code 5E24 and 5E20. I have a pdf on how the DSC works with schematics etc, quite comprehensive. PM me if you want a copy.
