anyone know where i can fixed my door lock? or is it better if i just bought a new set together with ignition key as well? and also the price range for the above items.

Well its seems that my car keys and the door lock doesn't match as the previous owner use the boot lock as "central lock" to open all the door. now my probs is, i just want to have one keys to be use for all doors , boot and ignition if possible.

can order new from the dealer.. all locks, even the glove box barrel comes with it, i bought it 4 years ago with a price of RM1070.00...

now dun know how much...

I used to work in a key manufacturing facility many-many moons ago.
So qualify to advise on the old key technology.... not the new ones though.
It is easy for the old keysmiths to redo all the keylocks.

1. Take out all the keysets from the car
a. Stering lock
b. door locks (2 set)
c. boot lock

2. The keysmith will then take out the barrel from the cylinder.
3. He will re arrange the lockplates so that the key grooves will be the same for all.
4. The keysmith will cut a new key.
5. You put back all the keysets.

6. Item 1 and 5 can also be done by the locksmith if you do not know how to do it.

7. Cost excluding item 6 ~ not more than RM100-00, I did mine for RM50-00 few years back. And help a friend who lost her CITRA key when someone broke into her house. New set will cost her RM1500-00.

Follow max suggestion.. you can make lock the same for an e30.

Once my key was lost and the locksmith took the lock and fabricate the key with the lock.

thanks so much however the key has already spoil can the locksmith repair it as well?

ic... how bout if the lock it self is spoiled? anyway any locksmith would be able to do this job rite?

The best option is to get a locksmith to look at the locks to determine if they can be repaired. If not he should be able to source a "new" (or 2nd set) set for you. Another option is for you to find a used whole set from the chop shop. A new one can be bought from AB, Sapura, or from the many BMW parts suppliers.

haha what can u expect from a car which is 21 years old. anyway any locksmith can do the job rite?

Can you recommend a locksmith?

Go to Klang Town take the Jalan Kapar to go toward Kapar Town. On the left is a row of per-war shophouses. You can see a key shape signage hanging outside one of the shop. My BMW NK 2000 year 1967 key was done there by a boy ~ 12 years old, mustta learned the skill from granddad. If you passed a chinese school (or kindergarden ?) then you have missed the shop. Further ahead on your right is the famous Klang tyre / rim shop. You are in luck i got the receipt PERNIAGAAN TAI WAYE 0126102861/0126563850 (27/10/2006) seventy buck only!

There is another one where I did my fuel cap lock and my friend send the key set of his VW Karmann; in Kg Baru Sungai Buluh. The boy in Jalan Kapar and few other locksmiths donnow (went to a few) how to open my fuel cap lock and do not have the patience. This old man patiently did mine. The road to the shop is winding and difficult for me to describe. I remember there is a huge white chinese deity statue and temple on the left, the shop is on the right, if you passed the chinese school and the police station that you have missed the shop. If I can find the receipt I will update you the handphone number.

Good Luck!
