 Heyya Folks,Yesterday, LUCKILY i was on annual leave so I decided to send the missus to work (i bought the beemer for her). When I cranked the engine - the whole car started to vibrate and sound like a motorboat with about 30% loss in power. The first thing on my mind was OH SHIT!.Anyways, I sent her to the office in my car and went straight to Auto Mobile Garage in section 13 PJ as that was where the dealer sent the car for servicing before he sold it to me.NOTE : I HAD PURCHASED THE CAR ON 4TH JUNE 2007. Its a 318i CKD November 2003 with 58k on the clock for RM133K. The mechanic followed me home and drove the car slowly to the workshop. It turned out that one of the cylinders were not firing - the ignition coil koyak. So I told them to replace that and also the leaky winshield wiper washer and called up the dealer to tell them to foot the bill.Total cost came up to about RM350. But then the supervisor told me "sorry boss, Venture Autos will not pay the bill cos' the boss said its is under wear and tear"What the FISH!! Wear and Tear my ass, the car has not been driven even 1000Km yet since i took ownership. I am not hard -up for them to settle the measly RM350 but as a matter of principle and ethical customer service they should have paid it especially after only delivering the car to me in less than a month. And the stuck up boss whoever he is did not have the decency to call me directly but conveyed the message to his salesperson. So please do not do business with this company:Swee Jin Auto Enterprise a.k.a Venture Autos a.k.a Sincere Cycles. They have another company which always has a full page ad in Motortrader. I cant remember the name but they have a dude with fake smile holding a phone at the bottom of the ad. That really spoiled my day. So dont let it spoil yours in the future.

business in malaysia like that lah..
but if it were my company, i'll cover it lah...surely you'll give my the thumbs up and recommend more ppl to my shop rite?
lucky he asked you to change 1 coil only, most 'BMW' workshops ask you to change all!!...

the funny part- 'sincere cycles'..hahahhaha! i'm rolling on the floor already!!

Don't know u bad luck or he bad luck.. ;) But anyway, he should have handled you better than like how you described it. That's the little little things that would associate with old cars. u buy it on as is basis unless it was clearly stated to come with a warranty period. And for a dealer to provide certain warranty period, he would have to charge a premium for the warranty. Like the Approved used cars sold by Auto Bavaria. Were there any mention of warranty or any kind for the said car bought from the dealer? And if there is, what does the warranty cover?

BTW, which coil was faulty??? Is it coil for the 4th cylinder which is nearest to the firewall??? The 4th coil seem to be prone to fault. Apparently, there is more heat trapped there causing the coil to 'die' prematurely compared to the rest of the 3 coils. That's the common theorylah.. but don't quote me on that...

What's the brand of the replacement coil? Is it the same with the other 3 coils?

thank for the info1.... planning to drive my car to that area for check up...but
now....i dun think so

Dude, he's not talking about the workshop, it's the car dealer he bought the car from. Unless you want to drive your car to that area to check-out other cars~lah ;)
