Noticed Bimmers esp after 3 years (after warranty), all the trouble starting to set in.

My bro's E65 2002 started going kuku recently and he has since got rid of it for new one. You either change it or bear the cost of repairs.

Personally I think its got to do with engine capacity. The bigger them engines, the more problems you have since its a more complicated engine. Bigger engines means its a higher series (hence heavier car). And these engines produces more heat than the usual below 2.0 litre car.

not really beemaro.

Look at the engine in which the Dodge Viper has under its hood. A simply truck engine.

It seems so. Mine is a 2002 model with low mileage but low mileage doesnt count for much as mine is falling apart too. Time to change? Hm...

That argument is flawed. The E46 318i (1.9L) has as many problems as the E46 328i (2.8L). :)

You may be totally rite.

I havent got any experience with below 2.8 litre bimmer, so no comments.

Like that worst lo, even 318 i give problem.

I felt that the parts of programme to give away after 3 yrs (irrespective of miles)

Better change unless willing to spend $ on repairs.

My E46 325 so far has been ok. Keeping my finger cross as it approaches 115km mark. Hope to keep till 2nd half of 2008 or 150,000km whichever comes first. :D

yo Fuhrer!!! or shall i call ya Mav'???

i'd love to keep the 46 but as you and i know, our company don't pay that well.as much as i'd like to keep her, having 2 sports saloons is hurting my not too deep pocket:(
the reason its still with me is b'cuz i can't sell it as yet, task proving very very difficult and testing at times.u won't believe the offers i've been getting man!!

i'd love an e30 though..remember mine??? we used to have plenty of fun during those carefree days huh?? :p

Hi mate,

Your last sentence "... used to have plenty of fun ..." made me feel sad about yet another lover who lost the zest for car fun.

I too was in that boat as well after playing with American/Aussie muscle cars for 25 years, I started to look elsewhere for different fun ... went into Toyotas, Hondas, BMWs, Mitsubishis, Nissans etc but deep down I knew it wasn't me at all and truly missed that 'muscle-car life' that I enjoyed for so many years.

So what I did ... I went round looking and had a very hard time as these cars hardly exist in Malaysia anymore. Managed to find some and my friends are once again rekindling their love affair for the muscle car era. Some have been fully restored and some in the midst ... I am waiting to complete the parts collection for my classic and will start restoring it soon along with 3 others.

So my fun has restarted and this feeling has rejuvenated my car fun, albeit on a more matured level.

So go out there, get yourself an E30, restart/recharge your life with the E30 and soon you'll realise that life is still full of fun. Funnily, this time you'll enjoy it even more!!

Beemaro and 3er! where you you guys earlier when this thread started!
