Difference between 323ci and 325ci?

hi guys. im new here and i know i suppose to intro myself at the newbie section but i wanna wait till i get my bmw then only i do it. but for now i would like to find out the difference between 323ci and 325ci. both year 2000. thanks alot guys.

both engines are 2494 cc..the 323 power output is 170bhp and the 325 is 192bhp...otherwise generally the same

323 is using M52 engine, 325 is using M54 engine, M52 is using cable while M54 is using 'drive-by-wire' technology

so it means which is better? i read somewhere that 323 engine is after 325. is it?
