Brief review of dyno session (warning, not BMW related):

Okay, my Satria went for dyno today... not bad, a little bit more powderful than stock Satria... btw, apparently for manual cars the dyno will extrapolate the at-the-crank power and torque figures, but not for auto where they will give you only the at-the-wheels power... and they can't give at-the-wheels reading for manual, hmmm, scratch my head lah...

Damn photobucket website, can't get in, so, the extrapolated at-the-crank figures were:

Max power: 197.8bhp @ 6500rpm (and still rising, but my balls not big enough)
Max torque: >260Nm @ 4000-4500rpm
Air fuel ratio: 10-11 only at WOT, sigh, my engine is drowning in petrol...

Dunno why but every on-looker at the shop was going "fu-yoh" and mumbling unmentionable words when my Satria was on the dyno...

Will do my E36 next weekend... Ask 8080pbmw for his 328i dyno graphs, he did his run on Friday...

Alan, you might wanna do a baseline dyno first, to see where you stand against your 218hp (is that the factory-rated figure for your SMG?)... Then only you go on your quest to turn it into 281hp, or even more... hee hee

At crank Max power : 197.8 bhp @6500 rpm , at-wheel shd get even lower ? correct me if i am wrong ? how much per dyno ?

For manual tranny, the losses is about 10-15% at the wheel... Group dyno is RM100 per car for three baseline runs. They are closed on Tuesdays, but open on Sundays. I think you should just mention that you are friends of 8080, me, Chin (SN) and you will get the group rate too...

My car has approx. lost 15% of the power and torque from BMW data sheet on engine for the M52B28.

I'll love to see what sort of wbhp and torque is comign out from monster of KKO and Steven.
Manual gearbox does not take so much power from the engine unlike my GM auto gear box.

8080, actually your whp reading is good... yesterday there was a Mazda 323F there, 1.6 auto I think, pulling 75-80whp only no matter what they did to the Unichip.

Taken on my Satria... 1st run was done on 3rd gear, 2nd run on 4th gear, 3rd run they didn't record, were too busy recording the air-fuel ratio...

Alan, by the way, make sure they really know how to operate your ahem stick, errr, I mean your SMG (Stick Me Gal?), before letting them play with it by themselves on the machine...

my ride ada sedikit demam, need to go down to Kl on one of these day to see the specialist for truobleshot.

Anyway if i got time, i will try to do dyno there, heard got few reputable shop can do dyno for BMW very well.
