I recently did my Vanos solenoid O-ring change, the worn O-rings are also in such sorry state.. it melts! I think it's environmental friendly bio-degradable type..

Item 3. Item 2 is green color and doesn't look as bad as item 3. I bought OEM part, RM12 for all 4 pcs.

Just updated my blog with the following photos. I took them from one of the showroom to give you all a clearer view of the cover plate. The round cover above is the vacuum pump.

Oil Separator?? not for a looong time haha...dealer changed for me when I bought the car in May....k la sama sama level hehehe :)

I manage to found out the leaking is from water pump. How much does it cost to change? I ask 1 workshop at pandan indah they said RM800 include all those O rings n workmanship. And the most concern is time, how much time to change it.

It look different from mine... Mine is E46 year 2004

I still dunno what engine u using? 316i, 318i, 320i, 325i, 328i, 330i? different engine, different cooling system design, headache and repair price..

M43 is out, N42? which is same as N46, M54 for 6 cylinder?

N42/N46 water pump is damn expensive. The location of the pump is stupid i.e. behind the PS pump. You will need to remove the PS pump. Guess what? Unpon dismantaling Your PS hose will guarantee to give way so you will need to replace the PS hose too. Since you at working on the cooling system you may want to replace the thermstat as well.

Since it's labour intensive, i wouldn't recomend using a cheapo aftermarket waterpump (RM250+). Get the BMW original waterpump RM550+. By the time you are done. Replacing waterpump, thermostat, O Rings, PS hose plus labour the damage to your wallet will more the RM1.3k. Trust me you should get this job done right & not try to cut corners.

It's an expensive affair. N42/N46 parts are damn expensive. My E38 Seven 28i is way cheaper to maintain.

So all sifu advise is change wat even neccecery to avoid repeat work. Do I need to replace all the cooling holes?

Did you mean the radiator hoses? Your mechanic should be able to advise you on whether you need to replace them immediately or leave it for a later date.
