Engine Coolant temp - KTMP
Engine Oil Temp - OELTEMP

I don't remember the readings for KTMP but OELTEMP for my 530i is 90C-ish when cruising and 103C if rempit.

Astroboy, thanks for sharing.. Have you try push your up Genting? Mine shows the same symptoms as your on normal city run or suburb but will overheat if pushed up to Genting. I have everything changed now left the engine oil heat exchanger

Found out how it works. A bit troublesome but interesting to monitor.

My coolant temperature is around 107 +/- 2 degrees.

Now need to monitor engine temperature. Which menu is it btw?

Yup... can't find OELTEMP.. My E90 320i hidden menu list is same as the above.

My UB also 13.8~14.00v

My E39 KTEMP is always hovering between 93C-95C even during high speed driving or stuck in the jam.

But my OELTEMP is always showing ---

What is wrong?

Nothing is wrong, the oil temp is not enabled in our cars, normally only in M5. But I just recently know it can be enabled with PA Soft.

Haywire, can I change the clock display to others via INPA? If yes how to do so? Thanks

I don't have INPA so i don't know. Maybe Jarance or Aidilj could help

No worries bro, will google around for infor. I have not tried INPA Expert as suggest by Aidilj

I have an N42 engine, a few months ago, I have minor block in coolant system and replaced the waterpump, thermostat radiator, elect fan, both gearbox and engine oil exchanger, oil separator and last week did the vacuum pump and some gaskets/seals and the plastic cover (back plate) at the rear of engine block. Now i find the coolant temperature to read 105C(!)

However, looking through the web all over for the thermostat rating got me confused. I see 90C and 102C, although some people mention 88-95C as per ICEDUKE.

So my question is ... what is the correct opening temperature for the N42/N46 thermostat?

If you happen to have similar engine, what is your normal/running coolant temperature?

105C may still be tolerable for the engine but it is giving me sleepless nights!

P.S. 6 potters engine are cooler so the questions is to all 4 potters engine owners

Thanks in advance!

Mine higher lor.. 108 ~110 on the high side. Normal is 105~108, anything below means high way cruising, can be as low as 88 if I do insane speed... :4:

An update to an old issue, after I have replaced my aux thermostat near the expansion tank plus the backplate.

Temp is now between 105~108 but if rempit it goes to 108 ~110. Cruising is 105 at 130km/h but if cruising at 90km/h it goes down to 103

Hope that's normal

I hope its normal

Just sharing here...
Normal eng working temp 85~95...
On a higher speed normally the temp will rise abit 95~110...
Even commercial trucks temp will be 85~110...
If more then this reading something is not right...

My temp on hwy cruising range from 85~95...
Idling normally 85~90...

astroboy im sure u know how to enable the display reading for water temp, can do it for me pls ....:)

Mine shows 105-108' on smooth traffic, but 108-113' during plenty of stop and go
