Just changed my radiator top hose the other day and when I checked the coolant level this morning, found out that the level is about 1/2 inch above the max level. We all agree that it's a no no to overfill the engine oil. I thought it should be likewise for coolant. Surely there must be a reason for BMW to speficy the max level for the coolant dipstick perhaps so that the radiator and the related hoses would not be over pressured. What do you guys think?

dun worry.. the extra coolant will be expled from the tank via the cap..via the is a overflow hose, then it will regulate the level it self.

the word 'Max' is to tell you the level of coolant in your tank that has to be constant during operation and during rutine inspection, if not you wont know if the tank coolant is enough.
