just continuing from this thread.......last week the coolant check warning came on. found out the whole expansion tank went empty. topped it up but half gone within a day of driving. so went to the workshop, found a leak from the water pump and got it changed. the bearing was very loose and that also gave a chit chit sound which even the mechanic thought was either from the belt or tensioner. the sound is gone after changing the water pump. the last time i changed the water pump was 3 years ago and roughly 50k km.

wah...3 yrs and 50k kms gone ady...must be lauya brand.care to share wat brand that was?

actually, the car's running time is very long despite the low mileage.....always stuck in jam :)

Hi bro...
Mine prob already solved...
change both of the heater inlet n outlet pipe...
troublesome job since have to remove the manifold since both pipe seated just below the manifold...
also change thermostate housing expansion tank n cap...
coolant dissappear solved...:top:

Hello guys, looks like i had another over heating problem. While it was idling, the needle when up hot. i notice the top hose was hard. suspected the thermostat was jammed. i bleed the cooling system, and it was ok. took a town drive and monitored ard 95-96deg, Should be ok with that. i let the car runnig on idle, saw the temp reaching 98deg, pop the hood and saw aux.fan running fast.but the clutch fan was slow and even with a hard rev,it still maintain at same speed. looks like my Clutch fan kaput. Eng Soon quoted S$85 (Sachs). Not sure if i need to change the Thermostat housing, coz got it new recently.but why the top hose was hard???.:motz:

any of Bros find vibration during cold start? then goes off once its warm. sometimes the check engine pops out. care to share?

Most likely yr fan clutch is the culprit..i also happened to me once, aux fan spinned fast and temp shot up..the fan clutch is below rm300 brand new item.. Engine vibrating during cold start? Hmmm, last time i changed CVV due to bad idling and vibrating..

Bro its stated at the same place like b4 hehehe...:burnout:

bought it new from Eng Soon on last year sept and assembled it myself. i did explain to eng soon but they said "i sold many but no complain". it leaks from just below the top hose in between the crimped ared.suspect the gasket burst during the fan clutch gave way and the temp shoot up. i've went thru couple of forum's. many complain that Behr from South Africa is doesnt last long. im goin to change the gasket and try it out. otherwise it'll be http://www.zionsvilleautosport.com/store/screen/prod/store_code/6134/product_code/NP-ALLOYRAD39.htm

That's a standard answer from a shop bro. Not much u can hope just have to bite the bullet and live with it. The bottomline to solve an issue if u dunno what's the real culprit always start with the cheapest possible solution. Good luck bro.
