hi bros, got my E39 couple of months ago. the previous owner told me that he has to top up water every week about 100ml. so i tot that was a normal stuff for a bmw. soon after buying it, from 100ml, it went to 1 litre every week. after further inspecting it,saw coolant leak from my rad. yesterday i decided to buy parts from Eng soon. just burn $S1k plus.once got the parts, became gatal abit, so decided to DIY myself. changed radiator and hoses, beltings, water pump and etc. pics coming up. sorry for big files. my pitbull sibuk posing while i took pic of the rad. so found leaks from various parts. water pump, top hose, thermostat housing and radiator.purchased parts:-radiatortop & bottom hose.thermostat housingwater pumptensioners and pulleybelting'svalve cover gasketoil separator & all connecting hoses.intake manifold gasketand ...View attachment 26302View attachment 26303View attachment 26304View attachment 26305View attachment 26306View attachment 26307View attachment 26308View attachment 26309View attachment 26310next project would be changing valve cover gasket . need to remove intake manifold and change oil separator and connecting hoses. will update more pics.

Nice job there bro...any more pics of the car? What year of 530i is it?

1. The water pump just the o-ring sudah kecut.. looks still boleh pakai lagi, or jual 2nd hand.. :4:

2. I prefer 2 x 1.5L BMW coolant. I find 1 bottle is too diluted.

3. Radiator is side cover leak, can tukar the side plastic cover if not mistaken, then can pakai lagi, keep as spare or jual 2nd hand.. :4:

hi bro, further inspection of the water pump, saw that it was changed in yr 2010. there were also some corrosion marks on the impeller. so im not going to sell it, dustbin is the answer.lol. i need to reflush the coolant, so i've another 2 bottles left. for the radiator, the bleeder nipple broke also. how ever will post more when i change the valve cover gasket and need to remove the intake manifold.

Open intake for what? CCV can be accessed without having to remove intake. Unlike my stupid N46.. :20:

saw some nuts missing at the intake manifold and the pvc water pipe. good job done by the previous workshop. i've seen couple of slugish intake manifold. so its time to remove and clean it up.

thanks bro, but i can see that these parts have been changed recently. but strangly, item #10 is missing. that of of the reason for me to remove the intake manifold and inspect it. you guys got any idea how do you make the heat sheild? thanks again

You may want to consider to change another 2 hoses below the Air Intake Manifold as well.

Another thing is to make a heat shield for you DSC/ABS Module.. The circuit tends to fried up cos near the exhaust manifold.[/QUOTE]

An inexpensive effective DIY heat shield. Go to Jusco household section and look for thick aluminium foil that is used as backsplash for open stove cooker. Buy 2 pcs of this foil (about Rm20.00) and then wrap around the DSC/ABS module.

ok bro, thanks. i was going thru about the heat sheild. i remember i asked a fabricater to do a heat shield for my 1jz back then. will post some pics.
