Hi all to Sifu here.
My E90 323i LCI 2009 is due for engive oil change soon since I bought it 6 months ago. I have read that the BMW LL-4 rating are meant for europe countries with low sulfur content fuels. Is our fuel in Malaysia high or low sulfue content?TORCO SR 1 engine oil label states it is a LL-4 rating.Shell Helix ultra is LL-1 rating which Auto Bavaria Service Center use for engine oil change.
i have decided not to send to AB for engine oil change since it is already over the warranty period. So now I am hunting for the right engine oil for my car.Confuse till I get the right inflrmation on engine oil.

Actually both should be fine. In my car's service booklet it states LL04 recommended, and LL01 acceptable. I know when I sent my car in for BSRI, they use Caltex 5W-30 LL01 engine oil but now in the same boat as you, I do my servicing outside and decided to stick with LiquiMoly 4100 5W-40 TopTec which is rated LL04. Tried running the car on both and I can't tell any difference at all.
